Zip Zap Circus School

Welcome to our uniquely South African family! Zip Zap Circus invites visitors to experience the magic behind the scenes at our Academy in Cape Town.

Zip Zap was established in 1992 by Brent van Rensburg and Laurence Estève, with a simple dream, a trapeze bar in a tree, a few well-worn costumes and a rusty car. Their dream was to use the circus as a tool to bridge socio-economic gaps and to inspire and empower young people to build a new culture of peaceful co-existence in South Africa, inspired by the late Nelson Mandela. We are a social and professional circus that is filled with hope, promise, daring dreams, and extraordinary talent.

Our exclusive guided experiences offer unique insights into our world-class training facility, social impact, and inspiring performances. Available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10h00, 11h00, 14h00, and 15h00 for individuals, small groups, and corporate teams. Group Size is limited to 10 people per session for more intimate experiences, or 30 people maximum for larger groups. Your booking helps fund our nine outreach and youth programmes, which are offered at no cost to all our participants, and helps create the next generation of circus performers!
