About One & Only Nyungwe House Bird Watching in the National Park

Bird Watching in the National Park is a challenging activity provided upon request by One&Only Nyungwe House. Welcome to a true birder’s paradise. Described by BirdLife International as 'the most important site for biodiversity conservation in Rwanda', the Nyungwe National Park is home to over 300 bird species, 27 of which are endemic to the local Albertine Rift. A mesmerizing trail through the forest floor is easy to enjoy as bird song accompanies every step while an expert guide identifies birds by ear alone, from the elusive Rwenzori Turaco to the Grey-Chested Kakamega. A beautifully prepared breakfast or lunch is included. As this experience is authentically wild, bird viewing cannot be guaranteed. It is recommended that guests bring comfortable outdoor clothing, covered footwear and sun protection.
