African Bush Bird Fish River Canyon Day Trip

This tour offered by African Bush Bird Tours starts with an early morning flight in a light aircraft over the Kuiseb River to Sossusvlei, and then over the 2 000m high dolomitic Naukluft mountains past the extinct Brukaros volcano to Keetmanshoop to refuel.

From Keetmanshoop the aircraft flies at a low altitude, zig-zagging over the Fish River and lands at Canyon Lodge from where visitors will be driven in a 4x4 vehicle to the different view points overlooking the Canyon before returning to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, the flight will continue up to Ai-Ais and over the Diamond Restricted Area to Lüderitz Bucht, and then along the “Forbidden Coast” past two shipwrecks on to Sandwich Harbour, a wetland of international importance, and over Namibia's coastal salt mines, south of Walvis Bay, before passing over Langstrand Holiday Resort and the Dolphin Park Recreation Resort on the way back to Swakopmund.
