Set within the remote and beautiful Simalaha Community & Wildlife Conservancy, Zambian Horseback Safaris offers an extraordinary opportunity to experience one of Africa’s least-explored wilderness areas from the saddle. As the sole safari operator within the conservancy, we offer riders privileged access to vast floodplains, ancient woodlands and the waterways of the Upper Zambezi, where wildlife encounters unfold at a natural pace and the sense of space is truly exceptional. Days are spent riding through this timeless landscape, while evenings are enjoyed in an intimate safari camp beneath wide African skies. The experience is deeply connected to place, with opportunities to learn about the culture, traditions and custodianship of the Lozi people of the Simalaha.

Our safaris are designed primarily for confident intermediate to experienced riders, with stays of three nights or longer. Guests should be fit, competent and comfortable spending several hours in the saddle across varied terrain and at different paces.
