Kasaka River Lodge

Kasaka offers an authentic and memorable safari experience set in a natural bush environment. We have two ‘wings’ to the camp - our cultivated ‘tame’ side has beautiful manicured gardens and indigenous plants whilst our natural ‘wild’ side, is set in a more rustic environment and is connected to the main lodge by overhead, wooden walkways to allow for the passage of wildlife within camp. Our 8 classic tents are large, walk-in style safari tents which accommodate two single beds or one king size. Each has an elegantly furnished en-suite bathroom with flush toilets and powerful, heated showers. Outside verandas create the perfect spot for watching the world go by on the river. Our honeymoon tent, Wild Mango, is located at the end of the 'wild' side and also benefits from a secluded extended deck and outdoor bath. The perfect place for viewing game on the banks of the river under the African sky.

Kasaka is proud to offer our guests a luxury family home, ideal for families or guests wanting an exclusive and private safari experience. Our home is beautifully finished and boasts handpicked furniture bought from local craftsman giving it a unique atmosphere. Offering two large canvas bedrooms with a lounge connecting them. Both rooms can be set to accommodate either double or twin beds and have en suite bath and shower. Furthermore the lounge can convert to provide extra sleeping space for younger children if needed. Hippo Pod has its own secluded deck and swimming pool supplied with sun loungers and its own area for private dining where morning coffee and evening meals can be enjoyed whilst overlooking the most spectacular Zambezi River. Guests can also enjoy the main facilities of the lodge including the bar area, viewing deck, swimming pool and dining area.

Guests at Kasaka River Lodge can enjoy communal dining in a variety of different locations, each with spectacular views of the Zambezi River. Our team of experienced Chefs prepare a wide variety of delicious meals using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Meal times at Kasaka are fluid depending on the time of year and the choice of morning activity but a general guide is as follows Breakfast 6.00am - 7.00am. Watch the hippos stir and early morning game drinking from the river while you sip hot coffee and enjoy a light breakfast buffet. Brunch 11.30am - 12.30pm. After returning from your morning activity a buffet brunch is served. Join your guide and fellow guests to share tales of the morning’s adventures. High Tea 3.30pm - 4.00pm. Meet for drinks and a delicious, freshly baked treat before setting off on your afternoon activity Dinner 7.30pm - 8.00pm. After pre-dinner drinks and canapés, guests are seated for a delicious three course dinner. Guests staying at Hippo Pod have the option of dining privately or are more than welcome to join guests for meals at the main camp. We are also happy to arrange earlier dinners for any younger guests upon request and pre-arrangement. Our team of highly trained, local Chefs are more than happy to cater for any special dietary requirements you may have. If your food preferences or requirements could be considered out of the ordinary (vegetarian, vegan, gluten, dairy free etc) then we do ask that you inform us in advance of your arrival.
