Owen’s Camp

Zululand, South Africa

About Owen’s Camp

Owen’s Camp lies at the center of the 23000 hectare eMakhosini-Opathe Heritage Park, a candidate for World Heritage Site status. It is a unique landscape and is the resting place of seven illustrious Zulu kings. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of uMgungundlovu, the partially restored Royal Residence of King Dingane, who on September 24, 1828 assassinated his legendary brother, King Shaka, founder of the Zulu nation.

Bird life is abundant and several species of game, including white rhino, have been reintroduced to the park. Guests can participate in guided walks in the park and can, quite literally walk with the giraffe. Owen’s Camp offers comfortable, fully catered accommodations in ten well appointed rooms, each with en suite bathrooms.
