Tshwene Lodge enjoys an elevated position looking down the Taaibos River valley in the malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. An intimate, secluded Big Five safari lodge in a rugged valley rich in birdlife. Spend time soaking in the sights and sounds of the bush, listen to the rumblings of a passing herd of elephant or watch the African sun set the bush ablaze as it sinks over the horizon. Wooden walkways link the spacious pool deck, two lounges and dining room to four private rooms, each with their own al fresco shower and deck overlooking the valley and hills beyond. While the romantic Honeymoon Room features a large free-standing stone bath in a glass alcove, fireplace and Jacuzzi on the deck. Enjoy delicious meals prepared by a local chef in the warmth of the dining room, at the fire in the star-lit boma, or out on the deck. Morning and evening game drives with experienced guides bring the sights and sounds of the African bush to life. Experience the sun rise and set over the daily drama of life in the wilderness, and listen out for the Chacma baboon, after which Tshwene Lodge is named, who calls late at night to alert of pending danger. As a courtesy to other guests we request that you please arrive on time. If you are not able to arrive at the set pick-up time, a late pick-up can be arranged but this is subject to availability. Should you require a late pick-up, please inform reservations at the time of making a booking.
