About Elgin Guest House
Just outside Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg region, Elgin
Guest House is set on a working dairy farm with panoramic views over rolling
farmlands and lakes to the Drakensberg mountains, a World Heritage Site. Elegantly
decorated, each tranquil room has satellite TV, heater, electric blankets, tea
and coffee and a fridge.

warm hospitality and excellent farm breakfasts made with fresh produce, with
access to 70 km of single track mountain biking and 15 km of river frontage for fly-fishing,
walking and birding.
The
newest addition is Elgin @ The Duck, set on the second portion of the farm
nearby. Here you will find The Old Duck Restaurant, Vanilla Rose Boutique
Store, The Spoors MTB trails and five new guest rooms. You can enjoy a hearty breakfast at the
restaurant each morning or in the comfort of your own room or patio.
The area is well known for its crystal clear rivers, wetlands, scenic
farms and mountains, where you can discover Bushman paintings, go hiking, horse
riding, fishing and play golf. Sani Pass

"The setting here is absolutely idyllic. Herds of Holstein cows graze emerald pastures and drink from mirror-like dams, against the dramatic mountain backdrop. Jeannine has redecorated the rooms with gorgeous decor from her Vanilla Rose shop, just down the road at The Olde Duck coffee shop. Kids love the animal farm and play area at The Olde Duck, which is also the base for Sani Spoors mountain bike trails."
