St Lucia, originally founded by Portuguese settlers in 1575 as Santa Lucia, sits between the Indian Ocean and the estuary and lake system to which it gives its name. The town acts as the southern gateway to the whole of the iSimangaliso Wetlands

Located at the very end of the town's main street, McKenzie Street, the lodge's beautiful gardens merge into the surrounding forest to provide an air of complete peace and tranquillity, yet the shops and restaurants and other amenities of the town are only a short walk or drive away.
The lodge offers six comfortable air-conditioned rooms, each of which has a distinct character but all of which are presented to a uniformly high standard. All rooms have en suite facilities with either a bath, a shower or both.

All rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, tea and coffee making facilities and guest fridges. All rooms have a private patio area to allow guests to relax in the peace of the lodge gardens.
The rooms are designed for occupancy by two adults in either twin or double beds although in some rooms an additional bed can be provided for use by small children.
Breakfast is served in a beautiful light-filled dining room which offers views of the estuary and the gardens. A lounge adjacent to the dining room is available to guests in the unlikely event of inclement weather - guests can also connect to the lodges wifi from the lounge.
An outdoor swimming pool and comfortable shaded seating area, both for the exclusive use of guests, are to be found outside the dining room.
