About Springbok Lodge

Springbok is the ideal stop-over, as it offers easy driving to Upington, Cape Town, the West Coast, the Richtersveld and Namibia. Get to know Namaqualand with a visit to the Springbok Lodge & Restaurant – your one-stop accommodation service in Namaqualand.

The Springbok Lodge & Restaurant is a family business, operated since 1947 when it was known as the Springbok Café and Private Hotel. Today the main building houses the reception of the lodge, the restaurant, a café and curio shop.

The main building also boasts very interesting displays of mineral specimens, a photographic exhibition on the Richtersveld and historic Namaqualand as well as paintings by South African artists such as Sima Eliovson, Johan van Niekerk and Barbara Jeppe.

The lodge offers a wide range of accommodation for up to 200 people. Accommodation is in different buildings within walking distance from reception and the restaurant. The names of the different houses reflect their history, e.g. Huis Kallie Fischer, Die Stoor & Die Ankerhuis. Accommodation is offered in single and double rooms, family units & self-catering units.
