Situated in the secluded hamlet of Herold on the famous Route 62 and part of South Africa’s sublime Garden Route, just a 30 minute drive from both George and Oudtshoorn, Over the Mountain Guest Farm is nestled in the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains.

Forming part of the original 19th century town and consisting of 5 historic buildings that once was the old Post Office, Police Station, Stables and Farm House, these unique living spaces have been converted into comfortable accommodation while still retaining the historical feel that is synonymous with the area.

With space for up to 27 people spread across the three accommodation units in a combination of 6 beautiful en-suite rooms as well as 2 Self-catering family units, Over the Mountain Guest Farm could make for a perfect couples retreat as well as an ideal family getaway.

Post Office Room
This spacious room can sleep 3 people and has a beautiful view from the traditional porch in front of room. The unit has both a double/queen bed plus a single bed with an en-suite bathroom.
Family Unit - 4 Sleeper: Welsch House
The rooms have wooden floors and reeded ceilings and vine covered veranda. Fully equipped kitchen, one room with double bed, one room with 3/4 bed and 3/4 bed in living area. The bathroom is en-suite of the main bedroom with both shower and bath.
Family Unit - 6 Sleeper: House of Grace
The cottage sleeps six people with two double beds, two single beds, a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and a bathroom with only a shower. It has the most incredible view of the majestic Outeniqua mountains.
