About Desert Wind Private Game Farm
Nestled in the heart of this unhurried region of South Africa is the Desert Wind Private Game Farm. Located appropriately off the beaten track, approximately 200km from Cape Town and 40km from Montagu (its nearest town), Desert Wind is the perfect vacation haven for those who want to really get away from it all.
Our self-catering accommodation ranges from a beautiful 10 sleeper guest house (with a donkey Jacuzzi), a quaint 4-sleeper guest cottage (linked to the main house), a unique 4-sleeper stone cottage and two luxurious king suites, aptly named the Stables.
Our picnic areas alongside the gorge and fresh rock-pool, together with the stunning new boma braai make for special dining experiences as you gaze at the blanket of stars above and marvel at the clear night sky.
Our convenient farm shop stocks an array of food and toiletry supplies, together with children’s toys and unique gifts.
Being a private game farm, Desert Wind boasts a variety of game and wildlife that you can view. There are mountain bike routes and hiking trails for you to explore and discover, a rock pool to cool off in nearby the picnic spots.
You will also find it hard to beat the experience of sitting on your patio and admiring the breath taking views of the mountains, whilst drinking in the majestic silence and peacefulness of the Little Karoo region.

Accommodation Options
Large Guest House ( Sleep 10 )
The Large Guest House can sleep 10 people. There are 3 spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The lounge area has a huge indoor "braai" and patio. Guests staying here can enjoy a beautiful view, while relaxing in the donkey jacuzzi.
Small Guest Cottage (sleeps 4)
Small Cottage is a self catering unit with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The small guest cottage adjoins the Large guesthouse. This unit can be utilised in conjunction with the Large guesthouse, or as a stand alone rental.
Die Kliphuis (sleeps 4)
This cottage sleeps 4. One bedroom with a queen size bed and a sleeper coach, as well as a matras, in the living room. There is an inside and outside braai and like other houses we use gas and solar power.
The Stables Rm 1 (sleeps 2)
The Stables consist of two luxury, en-suite king rooms each with a semi-private balcony . A fully equipped kitchenette serves both of these rooms. An outside boma is available for all guests at Desert Wind and is located next to The Stables
