About Trade Winds Pretoria

Born of a desire to create intentional urban communities. Trade Winds Pretoria is a luxury boutique eco-hotel that offers travelers and the community of Pretoria an intentional urban lifestyle. Eco-urban living promotes well-being by nurturing access to the six elements of sustainable living: human capital, water, energy, food, personal security and transport. Trade Winds was created with each of these in mind and remains its philosophy behind this project.

The boutique hotel has 24 suites, a 10-seater boardroom, and a dining room. This accommodation in Pretoria has been developed by the restoration of the original heritage building dating back more than 60 years,  and modern eco-purpose built development that has been optimized for sustainability in the most appropriate way. Trade Winds is built for sustainability and minimal environmental impact and aspires to be a net-zero carbon building that is highly energy efficient. The aim is for energy from renewable sources to result in more power being produced than is used on site.

Living Pods
The Living Pods at Trade Winds Pretoria are eco-rooms built atop a water reservoir which helps to modulate the temperature in the rooms. Each Living Pod is designed to capture solar energy to power the hot water vessel, fan, electric windows and shutters and power control modules in the pod. Each pod has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and basin. These rooms are best for shorter stays or single travellers. Luxury Rooms at Trade Winds are compact double rooms with a King Bed. Spacious patios are furnished with a dining table and lead into the room. The naked wood desk is fitted with plug points and holds a stylish lamp. Each Luxury Room has a kitchenette where guests can enjoy making their own tea, coffee, and toast. Each one is fitted with a microwave, a bar fridge that contains fresh milk, sparkling, and still drinking water. You may also request for additional soft drinks to be placed in the fridge; this will be at an extra cost. One of the Luxury Suites features a gas fireplace with a stone façade and the other is a loft with the best view over the Eco Hotel and gardens.
