About Mattanu Private Game Reserve
Mattanu Private Game Reserve is situated in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province, the largest, safest, and malaria-free region, around 50 km northwest of Kimberley, the famed diamond city. Nestled beneath indigenous Camelthorn trees, this family-owned and managed reserve offers exceptional seclusion and hospitality in luxury accommodations. It is the only reserve in South Africa where visitors can view breeding programs for Roan, Sable, Buffalo, Royal and Golden Oryx, Golden Gnu, Black Impala, Tsessebe, and Livingstone Eland all on one property.
Five luxury safari tents, each with a private deck overlooking a waterhole, are adorned with African décor, sleeper wood furnishings, en-suite bathrooms, indoor showers, air-conditioning, and underfloor heating. A two-bedroom en-suite log cabin with a kitchenette, lounge, fireplace, and jacuzzi on the verandah also overlooks the waterhole. A thatched two-bedroom suite features a loft bedroom, private deck, lounge, bar, two bathrooms, and teak finishes—perfect for full board stays.
