About The Old Mushroom Farm
The Old Mushroom Farm is nestled in the picturesque KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, just 6.5 km from Howick along the Karkloof Road. True to its name, the farm was once a hub for mushroom cultivation but has since been lovingly transformed into modern accommodation, making it a charming destination for the whole family, including pets!
The farm shed, known as the Loft, a former mushroom-growing tunnel now called the Tunnel Apartment, the grow-rooms turned into the Boutique Apartments, and the staff housing converted into the Cottages, have all been creatively redesigned to offer a unique self-catering experience.
There's plenty to explore on the farm itself, with a variety of shops, restaurants, a children's play area, and a food garden among the attractions. You can enjoy a morning coffee, pick up some fresh bread, or even forage for your lunchall just a short stroll from your accommodation.
Don't forget your bike! TOMF is perfectly situated amidst some of the finest mountain biking trails in Southern Africa.

Four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. 2x bedrooms have a king bed in each. 2x bedrooms have 4 single beds in each. Open-plan lounge, diningroom and kitchen. Spacious veranda with dining and braai area & views of the farmland.
Cottages
Two bedrooms. One bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a king bed, bedroom 2 has 2 single beds. Open-plan lounge, kitchen, dining. Veranda with outdoor dining and braai area. 100% cotton bedding and bath towels are provided.
The Tunnel Apartment
Breakfast included. Two bedrooms. Two Bathrooms. Bedroom 1 has an en-suite bathroom and a king bed. Bedroom 2 has two single beds. Open-plan lounge, diningroom and kitchen. Private courtyard with terraced kitchen-garden and braai area.
The Falls House
Five bedrooms. Three bathrooms. Bedroom 1 has an en-suite bathroom and queen bed. 3x bedrooms with 2 single beds. 1x large dorm-style bedroom with 7 single beds. Open-plan lounge, diningroom and kitchen. Veranda with dining and braai area.
The Loft
Breakfast included. Two bedrooms. Two bathrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a king XL bed. The 2nd bedroom has two single XL beds. Open-plan lounge, diningroom and kitchen. Please note, The Loft is accessed up a flight of stairs.
Boutique Apartments - 1 Bedroom
Breakfast included. Spacious studio-style apartment with open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge and bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. En-suite bathroom with shower (no bath).
