About Amangwane
Amangwane Camp is uniquely located in the northeast corner of South Africa with direct access to the pristine beaches and lakes of the Kosi Bay area. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site, manages and protects the fauna & flora of this large undisturbed coastal and marine reserve.
Amangwane accommodation consists of 10 permanent tents with en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin. All the tents are the same consisting of 2 single beds with a bedside table, mosquito nets, plug-point (no hairdryers or kettles please) and all bedding and bath towels supplied.
Families requiring young children to sleep in their tents can request this however will need to bring their own bed/stretcher and bedding.
All accommodation is self-catering…
The 332 000 hectare iSimangaliso Wetland Park contains three major lake systems, eight interlinking ecosystems, 700 year old fishing traditions, most of South Africa’s remaining swamp forests, Africa’s largest estuarine system, 526 bird species and 25 000 year-old vegetated coastal dunes – among the highest in the world. The name iSimangaliso means miracle and wonder, which aptly describes this unique place and we look forward to hosting you and giving you a glimpse of this coastal wonderland.
