About Under Milkwood Chalets
On the tidal shores of the famous Knysna Lagoon, lies a collection of 16 self-catering timber chalets, nestled amongst leafy vegetation and indigenous Milkwood trees. The tranquil setting offers guests a haven of leisure and comfort. It is the only resort at the world-renowned Knysna Heads to have direct access to the beach, which is framed by the Featherbed Nature Reserve and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains on the far horizon. Perhaps while relaxing on your patio, you will even catch a glimpse of one of South Africa's most striking birds, the scarlet-winged Knysna Loerie.

Accommodation Options
Waterfront Chalet
Our Waterfront chalets are situated above the beachfront (about 5 metres back from the beach area). All four of our Waterfront chalets enjoy unparalleled views of the beach and lagoon. It features a fully-equipped kitchen, sundeck and BBQ facilities
Hillside Chalet
The Hillside chalets are situated amongst the Milkwood trees along the slope (about 50 metres back from the beach area) overlooking the resort. Most of our Hillside chalets afford guests panoramic views of the lagoon.
Middle Chalet
The Middle chalets are nestled between our Waterfront and Hillside chalets (10 to 20 metres from the beach area). These chalets don't offer lagoon views.
Curlew Chalet
Curlew is a one-bedroom, split-level chalet with an upstairs living area and a bathroom downstairs. It has a magnificent view of the lagoon. It can only accommodate two adults Please note no kids are allowed.
Maerose Hillside Chalet
Maerose is a two-bedroomed hillside chalet that offers magnificent views of the lagoon. Unlike our standard log-cabin style, this chalet has a white-washed interior. All chalets feature a fully-equipped kitchen,own sundeck and BBQ facilities.
Skylark Chalet
A 2-bedroom self-catering chalet with one bathroom, suitable for up to 4 guests. Skylark has a private living area and is part of the Under Milkwood chalet collection.
Handel Villa
A 2-bedroom self-catering unit with one bathroom, suitable for up to 4 guests. Handel Villa has a private living area and is part of the Under Milkwood chalet collection.
