About Island Lodge
Nestled on the banks of the Kwando River, within the heart of KAZA in the Zambezi region, Kazile is located on a private island. Together with its sister lodge Nambwa, it’s the only lodge situated in the Bwabwata National Park. Because you’re only able to reach the island by boat, Kazile is nothing short of a very special paradise in the corner of Namibia.
Ten Meru tents, dotted throughout an amazing Mangosteen forest, boast views of the river and expansive floodplains that join the island with the famous Horseshoe Bend. Each of the tents is raised above the ground on wooden platforms and come complete with an en-suite bathroom (with shower), fan, complimentary mineral water and many more comforts to ensure your stay is a pleasurable one.
Sit on your personal viewing deck as you watch the herds of buffalo and elephant traverse the landscape. If you’re lucky, you may even spot the elusive aquatic antelope, the sitatunga. Wake up each morning to the sounds of birds chirping and take in the natural beauty and serenity on your doorstep each day.
There are plenty of activities to choose from to fill your days, including boat cruises on the Kwando River, guided bush walks with experienced guides (the best way to truly appreciate the smaller details of the terrain), game drives in the Bwabwata National Park and day visits to the Mashi Traditional Village and Craft Market.
Come and experience the wonders of Africa with family and friends from this unique island location.
