About Danielskraal Guest Farm
Through the little town of Calitzdorp, past stretches of rambling vineyards and orchards, tucked away in a lush valley in the depths of the Klein Karoo, lies the original farmhouse of Daniel’s Kraal. The homestead was built in 1836 with its thatched roof, thick walls and expansive veranda, the households a tangible nostalgia, that transports its guests to a time of sweeter, simpler living. The farmhouse rests on 2300 hectares of the pristine wilderness; home to hundreds of species of succulents, plants, birds, and wildlife. The ‘Little’ Karoo is one of the country’s most subtle, yet magnificent, desert jewels. The air seems crisper, the morning sun welcomes you and the only sounds to greet your ears are birdsong and the hurried whisper of wind through the trees.
