"To start with - we were warmly welcomed by Rose , the hostess, who made sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. We also appreciated the champagne, lovely flowers and chocolates on our arrival We especially enjoyed the really super breakfasts in Lalapanzi''s fresh and attractive dining room. Our first evening - sitting on the deck outside our bedroom gazing across False Bay, with a glass of bubbly, enjoying the twilight view as the lights of Somerset West, Strand and Gordans Bay began to twinkle - listening to owls hooting in a pine tree alongside, frogs clicking ... a lovely start to our short stay. "We stayed at the 3 bedroomed, 2 bathroom, Phezulu Lodge (self catering option at Lalapanzi Lodge). The lodge is very comfortable and our 2 daughters loved having their own bedroom. They only had to share a bathroom :). You just have to bring your own food OR the lodge could stock the fridge and kitchen for you. The views are spectacular and the surrounding area quite, beautiful and very relaxing. As guests of the Lodge you have the option to eat at the main lodge. We had dinner there once and the chef prepared a lovely 2 course dinner for us. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break with a feel of being out in the mountains but not giving up on any comforts. We will defnitely go again."

"Having just returned from spending 13 nights at Lalapanzi Lodge from 18th January 2012 it is only fitting to state what a superb time my wife and I had at this incredible location. The hosts, Marie-Helene and Ian, Rose, Ilkie and team could not be praised highly enough. From our initial welcome, to daily suggestions for sight seeing, superb restaurants to visit there was never a dull moment. The Lodge, situated on a private estate, has an unforgettable view over False Bay, the perfect place to sit on the stoep for breakfast and consume one of Rose''s special dinners. For a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the most perfect of surroundings, I could not recommend Lalapanzi Lodge more highly."
