In the foothills of the southern Drakensberg Mountains, close to Sani Pass, Moorcroft Manor is a charming, owner-run country house with sprawling lawns and views that extend to the Drakensberg escarpment and lofty peaks of the Kingdom of Lesotho. Expect a warm and welcoming country retreat that is the perfect romantic getaway or weekend break. Toasty fireplaces in the lounge, bar and dining room create a cosy atmosphere, especially in winter when snow covers the nearby mountains. The restaurant’s varied menu offers freshly prepared dishes using locally-produced ingredients where possible, and a good selection of wines. Extensive park-like gardens are a picture of tranquility, with a dam and small rock swimming pool to escape the summer heat. There is an independently run spa on the premises too, where you can pre-book a range of pampering treatments. Eight rooms, including one Junior and two Executive Rooms, have a classic country elegance with all the comforts of home, including DStv, bathrobes, tea and coffee and underfloor heating in the chilly winter months. Most have pretty bay windows and patios with views across the lawns, dam and countryside. The area is well-known for its clear rivers, lakes, dams, farms and mountains and offers a range of activities from visiting legendary rock art sites, to hiking, horse-riding, fly-fishing and mountain biking. Near the junction to the famous Sani Pass makes it easy to enjoy a tour or self-drive to the top, where you can enjoy a tipple at the highest pub in Africa, and explore a little further into Lesotho.

At 31 sq mt our largest, and most private, room features a unique terrace with a vertical wall garden and spectacular mountain views, a double shower and luxurious bath, with under floor heating in the room and bathroom.

Executive Suite - Room 1

Each executive suite is approximately 31 sq mt. These exquisite suites have bar fridges, under floor heating and generous bathrooms feature separate showers and baths.

Junior Suite - Room 5

Our Junior suite is approximately 27 sq mt. Includes bar fridge, under floor heating throughout and a shower over bath. Turn-down service, natural bottled spring water and complimentary locally-roasted African coffee beans and plunger.

Deluxe Room- Room 2 -Garden View only

Approximately 22 sq mt. Each room is en-suite, in a variety of configurations. This room has a lovely view of our beautiful gardens. Turn-down service with complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea in-room service.
