About First Avenue Guest House
First Avenue Guesthouse is a bed and breakfast style lodge situated in the elite beachfront suburb of Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth and is the ideal destination for discerning business and leisure travellers. Accommodation is elegant and restful with each well-appointed room opening onto the swimming pool and beautiful secluded garden. Each guest room has its own en-suite bathroom. Private entrances, secure off-street parking as well as all-night security is provided to ensure the safety of our guests and their belongings.
Port Elizabeth is ideally situated on the Garden Route between Cape Town, Knysna and East London. The surrounding areas boast malaria-free private game lodges, the famous National Addo Elephant Park and many other attractive tourist destinations. Port Elizabeth is also famously known as the water sport capital of Southern Africa, making First Avenue Guesthouse the ideal location for supporters and athletes competing in the many major sporting events held on the Port Elizabeth beachfront.
All guest rooms benefit from attractive, comfortable furnishings and dècor with bed options ranging from king size to twin singles. All rooms are strictly non-smoking and offer: En-suite bathroom, private entrance, television with DSTV (hotel package), fan, heater, complimentary tea/coffee facilities, mini kitchenette including toaster, kettle, microwave, under-counter fridge, glasses, cutlery and crockery, safe, hair dryer (available from reception), towels.
The original character-filled dwelling dates back to the early 1900's with gleaming Oregon pine floors and high ceilings and has been expansively upgraded with all the mod cons. Guests are encouraged to grab a well-deserved drink from the honesty bar and relax around the pool after a hard day at work or on the beach...otherwise take a leisurely stroll along our beautiful beachfront and enjoy a sumptuous meal at one of the many favoured restaurants that are within easy walking distance of the guesthouse.
