About Halcyon
Halcyon / halsɪən / adjective denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful.
Perched on a wild headland outside the coastal town of Still Bay, Halcyon is located three-and-a-half hours from Cape Town and 90 minutes from George in the safest municipality in South Africa.
Halcyon comprises two recently redecorated units perched above the Indian Ocean and a chic farm cottage with a difference. Untamed and Unwavering are a stone’s throw from the water’s edge and boast wrap-around sea views. They can be rented together or separately, depending on your needs. Unspoiled is located 1.8km from the sea and features gorgeous sunrises, a manicured garden and farm views.
There’s great surfing, hiking, swimming and fishing. But you don’t have to leave the stoep if you don’t want to! We are passionate about nature and living well. At this delicate phase in human history we feel a duty to our children to make responsible decisions. Halcyon strongly encourages catch-and-release fishing – limit your kill don’t kill your limit.
Accommodation Options
Untamed.
Sleeps eight in three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. There are double beds in two of the rooms while the third ‘family’ room has a double bed and two singles. The upstairs master bedroom, with its massive windows and outside deck, is extra special
Unwavering.
Sleeps four in two bedrooms, both with double beds and en-suite bathrooms. Perfect for smaller groups or as overflow accommodation for Untamed, it features its own access and parking area, not to mention a naturally sheltered outdoor braai area.
Unspoiled.
Unspoiled is a refurbished art gallery which sleeps 2 adults and enjoys expansive farm views. The sofa bed is perfect for kids under 10. With an immaculate garden, an outdoor patio and a hot outdoor shower, this is indoor-outdoor living at its finest.
