About Hillside Farm
Hillside Farm is ideally located for weary travelers to break their journey between 'north and south' or as an opportunity for a family to experience Free State farm life.
Hillside is situated close to the N1 between Trompsburg and Springfontein in the Southern Free State. A perfect overnight stop for anyone traveling from Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and even KZN to the Eastern or Western Cape.
Accommodation is available in three different sized lodgings: Len’s Cottage, Garden View and The Tree House. Located behind a koppie and set in a beautiful garden, so our guests can fully appreciate the beauty of the renowned Free State countryside, sunset and expansive sky.

Lens Cottage
Len’s Cottage overlooks the rose garden and is tucked into a shaded corner of the garden, it is ideal for honeymooners or couples. Sleeps a maximum of 4 people in queen sized bed and sleeper couch. 1 Bathroom
The Tree House
In keeping with the original farmhouse, parquet flooring, slate tiles and homely furnishings envelop guests in comfort and timeless quality. Folding, stacking doors open onto an unrestricted view over the beautiful garden and starlit night sky.
Garden View
Furnished with expansive north facing windows, wooden finishes and generous space, Garden View is idyllic in both winter and summer. The cosy lounge beckons you to enjoy a glass of sherry in front of the fireplace.
