About Pabala Private Nature Reserve
Pabala Private Nature Reserve is a malaria-free safari destination in the Gamtoos Valley, ideally located between Cape Town and Addo along the Garden Route. Just under an hour from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) International Airport and near Jeffreys Bay, it serves as a strategic stopover for multi-day itineraries, located an hour from Addo Elephant National Park.
The reserve spans three eco-biomes, offering rolling hills, indigenous fynbos, and abundant wildlife. Expansive terraces and waterholes provide excellent game-viewing points, while guided drives and bush walks ensure an immersive wilderness experience.
Accommodation caters to all markets. The Valley View Suites feature stylish comfort, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas with sweeping valley views, including a secluded Honeymoon Suite. The Country House accommodates larger groups, and the Stone and Farmyard Cottages offer rustic charm. The tented bush camp and campsites provide an authentic bush experience.

Permanent Twin Tent
Our tents are assembled on wooden decks and fitted with two permanent single beds. Tent 6 has 1 x double bed. Fresh Linen and towels are supplied. The shared ablution blocks have flushing toilets, warm water and showers
No 1 Campsite
Pabala Tented Camp has four camping sites with a shared ablution block. Bring your own tent and pitch it on our grass-terraced area, which has been left as natural as possible. Experience the beautiful landscape with wild animals roaming freely
Permanent Family Tent
The furnished Family tent is nestled in the bush and we offer guests the opportunity to experience the African bush under canvas. Our tents are assembled on wooden decks and fitted with four permanent single beds. Fresh Linen and towels are supplied.
Stone Cottage
Cottage has 3 rooms sleeping 5 people. Main bedroom has a double bed, second and third rooms fitted with single beds. 2 Bathrooms with showers. Easy accessible for any type of motor vehicle or motorcycle. Located ±75 meters from tar road or R331.
Valley View Suites
Luxurious 4-star Suites overlooking the Nature Reserve plains where animals roam freely. Each unit has a king-size bed (can be made into 2 single beds) with a shower, coffee/tea station, mini bar fridge and private balcony. No self-catering facilities.
