We as the owners manage a relatively small establishment to create a family atmosphere where all guest will feel welcome and at home; therefore we will walk the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Be assure of our best service and warm hospitality at all times.
Akanan is very easy to find just off the M4 freeway between Durban and Umhlanga Rocks. We are walking distance from La Lucia Beach and a small shopping centre with a grocery store and various restaurants. Umhlanga Rocks is 4 kilometers away, with Durban City Centre, Moses Mabidha, Kingspark Swimming Pool, Athletic Stadium, The Sharks Tank (Home of Sharks Rugby) and U’Shaka between 8 to12 minutes’ drive from us.
The guest house offers a luxury bed and breakfast experience with complimentary glass of Jeripico, Coffee / Tea station and something sweet to nibble on in the room. All the guest house rooms and self-catering unit are fitted with an air-conditioner, Commercial DSTV channels, Flat Screen TV, microwave oven, bar fridge, hair dryer, safe and limited cutlery and crockery. The self-catering unit is however fitted with a fully equipped kitchen.

Luxury Room / Self Catering
It is a spacious (58 sq m.) room with a bath and shower, modern and tastefully decorated with burnt orange colours that harmonise with its unique setting. The room has a king size and a ¾ bed. The king size bed can be converted into twin beds.
The Classic Room
The shower en-suite room is fitted with a queen size bed. The room is partly named because the setting it gives you a warm and cosy feeling it is a relatively small room. It is on the ground floor.
Self-Catering Unit
It consists of 1 shower en-suite room, fitted with a king size and 1 single bed. 3 Comfortable chairs are in the room. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you may need.
