About The Baths
The Baths, with its Natural Hot Water Springs of 43º Celsius, is situated only two hours drive from Cape Town on a citrus farm in the scenic Olifants River Valley, near the town of Citrusdal in the Western Cape of South Africa. Established in 1739 this self-catering resort, with handsome Victorian-style stone buildings, maintains an old world charm in a scenic, rural setting.
Today the resort is run by the great-grandchildren of James McGregor, who bought The Baths on public auction in Clanwilliam in 1903.
Accommodation includes 15 chalets and 18 flats with self-contained kitchens and braai areas.
There are 20 well shaded caravan and camping sites with ablution facilities and some with electrical points.
In addition to the hot and cold water swimming pools and hot mineral spring water baths, relaxing pastimes include tennis, trampoline, pool table, small playground for children, hiking trails, mountain biking and bird watching.
MacGregors' Restaurant with its mouthwatering a la carte menu offers an alternative to self-catering or the opportunity to relax with sundowners on the deck.
A shop on site sells self-catering necessities.
The owners of The Baths have a policy of non-commercialisation. We do not have TV's in the units nor do we have cell phone reception (you can get reception 1km away). We want to promote outdoor living in a relaxed, yet comfortable atmosphere.
Yet for those who may need it we have an internet HotSpot at MacGregor's Restaurant for fast internet access.

Just outside the entrance to the kloof, about 1.5km from the main pool area. Air-conditioned cottages with magnificent views over the Olifants River Valley and the Koue Bokkeveld mountains.

The Cape Dutch building has six fully equipped duplex units, accommodating either four or two people. The open plan living area/kitchen and main bedroom are downstairs and second dormitory style bedroom upstairs and bathroom upstairs.

Olsen 2 sleeper
The Olsen building offers 7 stylish self-catering apartments. These units have their own private Hot tubs, microwaves, air-conditioning and undercover braai facilities.
