The Longhouse Guest House

Clanwilliam, South Africa

About The Longhouse Guest House

Situated in Clanwilliam, 220km from Cape Town, this charming guest house is the ideal place from where to explore the village, the rugged beauty of the Cederberg or the Atlantic Coast at Lamberts Bay, 60 km to the west. Dating back to 1810, this historic thatch-roofed house is one of the two oldest surviving buildings in Clanwilliam and offers visitors an old-world elegance and charm.

The house is within walking distance to shops and restaurants, the museum and tourist office. Set in a beautiful, well-maintained garden overlooked by mountains, the property has an atmosphere of restful tranquility. Early morning and evening horses and guinea fowl can be seen frolicking in the paddock, studded with huge pecan trees, below the house.
