About Hippo Pod
Cape Town's first boutique pod hotel. For the same price as a backpackers you get your own private, lockable double pod with 32" smart TV with HDMI and headphone jack, universal and USB plugs. We have the speediest WiFi in town. It's unlimited and free so you can stream and cast your socks off!
Each room has 6 pods. We have female only pod rooms, male only pod rooms and mixed pod rooms where double occupancy is allowed. We also have gender neural rooms as we understand gender isn't always that clear cut. We are LGBTQ friendly and will fit you in wherever you feel the most comfortable!
Accommodation Options
Female Only - Single (TVs)
A private, lockable pod in a room of 6 pods for females only, single occupancy only. Each pod has a 32" smart TV with HMDI and headphone sockets, a universal plug, USB point, clothes rail and a reading light. Shared desk space, fridge and tea and coffee.
Male Only - Single (TVs)
A private, lockable pod in a room of 6 pods for males only, single occupancy only. Each pod has a 32" smart TV with HMDI and headphone sockets, a universal plug, USB point, clothes rail and a reading light. Shared desk space, fridge and tea and coffee.
Mixed Dorm (TVs)
A private, lockable pod in a room of 6 pods for single or double occupancy. Each pod has a 32" smart TV with HMDI and headphone sockets, a universal plug, USB point, clothes rail and a reading light. Shared desk space, fridge and tea and coffee.
Private Pod Room - 6 Double Pods (TVs)
A private room of 6 double occupancy pod for exclusive use - great for sports teams, school trips, conference delegate colleagues, training groups and large families.
Female Only - Single (No TV)
A private, lockable pod in a room of 6 pods for females only, single occupancy only. Each pod has a clothes rail and a reading light. Shared desk space, fridge and tea and coffee
