Set on the edge of a wildlife-rich wetland and framed by rare sand forest, andBeyond Phinda Vlei Lodge is an intimate safari retreat where stillness and wilderness meet. This secluded yet spacious lodge features just six thatched Suites to ensure exclusivity and calm. Phinda Vlei’s refreshed design draws inspiration from the elegant, turn-of-the-century plantation-style homesteads once found across KwaZulu-Natal’s sugarcane and pineapple estates.
Each air conditioned Suite features an expansive bedroom with its own sitting area, personal bar, luxurious ensuite bathroom opening onto an outdoor shower and a separate dressing room. Outdoors, a private pool, shaded sala and deck overlook the grassy wetland ahead, alive with wildlife. The main guest area includes a welcoming firepit for pre-dinner drinks and a thoughtfully curated library. Meals unfold in various settings, including an open, all-weather deck for al fresco dining with views of the wetland beyond.
