At de Baken, we are driven to deliver a unique experience through a combination of design aesthetics and comfortable, safe and well-kitted self-catering units. De Baken is a unique self-catering establishment in Walvis Bay, Namibia. It boasts colorful and spacious units, each specifically designed with their own flare. The establishment is situated near the lagoon of Walvis Bay, within walking distance from the town and best restaurants and activities. Come experience our unique service offering. Accommodation Options
Unit 1 – Slap Snoek
Sleeps 2 (2x 3-quarter beds in 1 room). Kitchen with stove, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery, microwave, fridge, dining table set. (Beautiful hand-crafted cupboards and shelves, designer fixtures). Outside BBQ area (braai). With attached garage parking.
Unit 2 – Sandy Bottoms
Sleeps 4 (2x 3-quarter beds in 1 room, and 1 queen double in another). Kitchen with stove, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery, microwave, fridge, breakfast nook. (Designer fixtures). Secure, attached garage. (2.1m high), Semi-Outside (Patio) BBQ area.
Unit 3 – Captain’s Cabin
Upstairs, with a wide panoramic view of Lagoon area in the main bedroom, Secure parking area. Sleeps 4 (2x 3-quarter beds in 1 room, 1 king size bed in 2nd room) Kitchen with stove, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery, microwave, fridge, breakfast nook.
Unit 4 – Flirty Flamingo
Sleeps 4 (2x 3-quarter beds in 1 room, 2x 3-quarter beds in 2nd room) Kitchen with stove, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery, microwave, fridge, breakfast nook. (Designer fixtures). Outside BBQ area (braai). Secure attached garage parking.
Unit 5 – Pelican Crossing
Sleeps 2 (1 king size bed). Kitchen with stove, kettle, toaster, utensils, cutlery, microwave, fridge, breakfast nook. (Beautiful hand-crafted cupboards and shelves, designer fixtures). Outside BBQ area (braai). Secure internal parking.
Unit 6 - Te Rooi
Unit 6 (Te Rooi) is our newest unit at de Baken.
As the name suggests, "te Rooi" means it's "very red", and red is definately the prominent colour on the exterior. Step inside the unit and experience a completely different look, a look of simplicity and
Unit 7 - Windy Waves
Unit 7, Windy Waves is newly build and open November 24. It has cozy interior and a lovely atmosphere with its own BBQ facilities. Courtyard parking is available.
