About Shamvura Camp
Shamvura Camp offers visitors more than 15km of a pristine river system with a vast adjoining flood plain created by the confluence of the Cuito and Okavango rivers. Situated high on a prominent sand dune, fronted by the meandering Okavango River, this location affords the visitor some spectacular vistas of up to 30km over the river into the Angolan floodplains. Visitors can also have the added advantage of being surrounded by both climax riverine forest, woodland and extensive floodplains creating a haven for a large diversity of fish, birds and other wildlife.
Shamvura Camp strives to offer guests personalised service, offering a range of accommodation and activities, including river boat trips, for keen freshwater anglers and excellent birding. The Camp also caters for those who just wish to experience the Okavango River at sunset. Shanmvura Camp also offers specialist bird guiding in the surrounding woodland area, with experienced and expert guides available. For those who wish to just relax they are welcome to make use of the pool or unwind on the deck overlooking the stunning river view and floodplains. Shamvura Camp offers home-cooked meals and self-catering and has a well-stocked private bar available only to resident guests.
