Sossusvlei Under Canvas

Sossusvlei Under Canvas is a semi-permanent tented camp located on the Neuhof Nature Reserve, nestled between the Nubib and Zaris Mountains, just 30 minutes’ drive from the Sossusvlei gate.

The camp consists of eight tents, two of which are family units, and is built in a naturally formed amphitheatre of a south-facing granite outcrop, offering protection from the stormy east winds. Shade is provided by roofs built from recycled oil drums, and the basic infrastructure of the camp includes bush toilets, bucket showers, and solar lighting. The tents are equipped with furniture built partly from recycled metals and wooden pallets and feature comfortable twin beds and day-beds.The camp is open seasonally between April and November, and can only be booked on an exclusive basis for a minimum of two nights.
