​Vogelstrausskluft Campsite

The "Vogelstrausskluft Campground" is located directly on the "shore" of the seafloor . On three sides protected by rocks and a red sand dune, the square offers a spectacular view over the surface of the dry lake. In rare cases, when it has been heavily raining in the source of the Schnepfen river, the basin fills with water and forms a bright blue lake in the midst of the rough deserts - an unforgettable experience.

The campground is directly accessible from the main entrance road (4x4 not necessary, overlanders are welcome). Each of the 4 pitches has its own barbecue area, a water and electricity connection, and can accommodate up to 10 tents around a central fire place.

The small campsite is equipped with 8 hot-water showers, 6 toilets, a reed bar and laundry and dish washing facilities. Breakfast, lunch and / or dinner can also be enjoyed in the restaurant of the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge Oryx Antelopes (distance only 5 minutes on foot) and of course all activities offered on the Vogelstrausskluft can also be booked when you are on the Vogelstrausskluft Campground are our guest.
