About Goanikontes Oasis

Goanikontes is a stunning resort and camp situated in the lunar landscape of Namibia, amid the Namib Naukluft and Dorob National Parks. The natural surroundings are amazing and the rest camp is just 50 m away from the Swakopmund River. The beautiful moon landscapes strikes the oasis and even the famous Welwitchia grows close by. Take some days to spend in the sunny oasis and enjoy nature and sunshine. Accommodation is offered in comfortable bungalows, each with their own braai facility. In addition, there are twelve shady campsites, each with its own braai facilities, and toilets and showers close by. There is an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.

With 350 days of sunshine you will enjoy the big natural swimming pool or explore some footpaths taking you onto the geological fascinating mountains to breathe the marvellous scenery of Goanikontes Oasis and surroundings. A bright variety of birds will always be a reliable companion to you. Camping under big trees. Light available, but no power plug. Plug at ablution block available. Please remember we work on solar power! Warm water supplied by donkey at night. Natural swimming dam.

Dining & Cuisine

Restaurant
Our homely restaurant is the heart of Goanikontes Oasis. Set in the original farmhouse built in 1903, a meal on the veranda places you in the shoes of the original owner of the farm as he looked out across his land. Some traditions remain to this day, which is why we still serve good strong coffee along with freshly baked, homemade cakes. Breakfast is served every morning at the restaurant to our overnight guests and lunch is also available. If you don’t want to use the braai on your campsite or at your bungalow, dinner can be pre-booked too. Simple dishes made with good quality fresh ingredients are our speciality. For lunch or dinner, you can try some local game straight off the braai with a refreshing salad. If you have a sweet tooth, then Goanikontes Oasis will make you happy with our famous homemade cakes, melktert and Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte served on the veranda.
