Lukwe means ‘a place of natural beauty’ and is perched on the side of an idyllic valley, where the Manchewe and Kazichi Falls plunge 80 metres below into a deep and untamed gorge. Thatched chalets built from natural materials face the valley, with the sound of the Falls in the background

and the view to wake up to. There is hot water and lighting is by kerosene lanterns and log fires. : Nearby, the waterfalls, surrounded by lush rainforest, can be viewed from Lukwe in all their magnificence. There are several paths from the lodge to the edge of the falls which gives a very good view of the rapids at their head. Visits can also be arranged to the small town of Livingstonia – a place of historical interest and here a visit must be made to the Stone House museum.
