About Namalikhate Lodge and Restaurant

Namalikhate Lodge and Restaurant is located in Mua Mission within the Kungoni Centre in Malawi, offers a unique cultural and artistic retreat. Opened in 2004, it overlooks the Nadzipokwe River and is a short distance from the Chamare Museum, Art Gallery, and Showroom. The lodge features five attractive chalets, divided into ten en suite rooms, each equipped with two single beds, a desk, and chairs, accommodating up to twenty guests. The rooms are beautifully decorated with cultural and artistic themes by the Kungoni Centre, providing a serene environment for reflection. Guests can also camp in the Botanic Garden if they have their own tents. The on-site restaurant, highlighted by Thomas Mpira’s striking carving of the Spirits of Namalikhate, serves simple, wholesome meals made from local ingredients. Visitors can explore the nearby cultural sites, enjoy the tranquil gardens, and participate in small conferences arranged by the lodge.
