Itinerary

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you'll be met & transferred by road (approx. 3 hours) to Welgevonden Game Reserve in Limpopo. You'll spend the next three nights combining nature with bush luxury in this beautiful Big 5 reserve. Welgevonden is in the malaria-free Waterberg District. The Dutch name can be translated as 'serendipitous discovery', a very appropriate way to describe this unique wilderness region. Enjoy twice daily safaris in open vehicles as well as guided bush walks through the fascinating surroundings. In the evenings, relax on your lodge's viewing deck with a drink and watch as game come to cool off and slake their thirst after a long, hot day. Welgevonden offers an exclusive, intimate safari experience with only a limited number of guests having access to the reserve at any one time. The reserve is also not open to day visitors, further enhancing your exclusive experience. The reserve can be visited at any time of year thanks to its high altitude and year-round temperate climate. It's particularly good for families with young children due to its malaria-free status, and many lodges offer specially tailored kids' safari programmes. When you're not out on game drives, you can relax by the pool or on your private deck with a good book, looking forward to a delicious and social dinner later in the evening with your fellow guests.

After a final game drive and breakfast/brunch, you'll be transferred by road to Johannesburg for an overnight stay before catching your flight the following day to Mahé in The Seychelles. If you're up for some sightseeing and a taste of the nightlife that the City of Gold is famous for, we can book you on a sightseeing tour and recommend some excellent restaurants with superb food and a vibrant atmosphere.

This morning you'll catch your 5 hour flight to Mahé in the Seychelles. As your plane descends on this island nation, you'll feel your soul relax and your spirit will be calmed by the impossible beauty of the dazzling white coastline and azure ocean.

The Seychelles is paradise on earth; a cluster of 115 islands (only 16 of which are inhabited) surrounded by the clear warm seas of the Indian Ocean and blessed with the perfect climate. It's all about island life here - relaxing on pristine beaches, diving or snorkelling through warm turquoise waters and exploring the lush mountain and jungle interiors that house some of the most fascinating fauna and flora in the Indian Ocean. You can hire a guided boat and sail from island to island, or jump on a ferry at your leisure and explore hidden beaches and dense forest paths on neighbouring islands. You'll stay in Mahé for two nights, with its vibrant markets and culturally fascinating capital city of Victoria, before heading on (by ferry or plane) to the second largest island of Praslin.

Praslin is best known for its palm-fringed beaches bordered by large granite boulders, two of which regularly make the top 10 lists of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. This is all about pure relaxation and it's where you'll do some of your most committed beach bronzing. Afer Praslin it's on to La Digue, a hippie paradise that is even more chilled out that Praslin with a ban on all cars. You'll walk or cycle around at a sleepy pace, mingling with the bohemian crowds that flock to Anse Source D’Argent, frequent winner of best beach in the world and the place to get your classic Seychelles beach photo. There are plenty of other fantastic islands for day trips, or we can arrange a stay on one of the private islands with just on beach resort, like North Island or Denis Island. Your plans, like the island lifestyle, are free-flowing and flexible, allowing you to go wherever the wind blows you.

It's hard to say goodbye but it must be done. You'll be collected from your island lodge and returned to Mahé before making your way back to your international departure point, armed with beautiful photos and even better memories.
