Zimbabwe is situated in the tropics but has a temperate climate all year round. The climate is moderated by the inland location of the country and the altitude. August to October is the country’s dry season, and the rainy season runs from November to March. Summer generally brings hot and sunny days with occasional thunder showers in the afternoon. Daily temperatures are at an average of 25°C – 30°C, while evening temperatures drop to 14°C – 20°C. Low lying areas are considerably warmer throughout the year, averaging at 35°C – 50°C. Winters are dry and sunny with cooler to warm temperatures daily. Temperatures drop significantly in the evening, 5°C – 10°C and sometimes even to -5 °C
