About Mpanda

Mpanda in Tanzania's Katavi Region is a metropolis and "frontier town" best known as a staging point for visiting Katavi National Park - a raw, remote and little-known wilderness - and home to the world's largest herds of buffalo. Although off the beaten track, a wealth of habitats can be found within the park, including four of the Big Five, namely lion, buffalo, and elephant, although leopard may be hard to find. While on safari, savour the glorious scenery of flooded plains, open grasslands, forests, seasonal lakes, and dense waterways filled with hippos and crocodiles.
