Gishwati Forest Reserve

Gishwati is one of Rwanda's few remaining indigenous forests. It is part of a reforestation and conservation project aimed at re-establishing a corridor of woodland between Gishwati and the neighbouring Nyungwe Forest National Park, in order to protect and preserve the country’s remaining chimpanzees.
